Sunday chilling

This is what summer is about. Sun, food and friends. Brunch at Pacifico never fails, the lovely company of Annik never fails. A boat trip to Suomenlinna was an ideal way to spend the rest of the day doing absolutely nothing but laying on the ground and watching the seagulls and passing boats. Now out with Gekko boy to see another friend and listen to the sounds of summer.

PS. Don't you just love my new second hand boots I found from fleamarket? Priced only 2 euros, these worn out leather boots couldn't make me anymore happier.

PPS. I'm heading to Berlin for few days soon! Yihoooo!

Single day 1.

As much as everything sucks right now and getting rid of all the negative feelings that have taken over my body and mind seems impossible, there's still some bright moments in my day.

These were waiting for me when I came home from work today. An old friend of mine had remembered me with some awesomeness. A dishcloth with MJ on it and an air freshener that smells like a chocolate cupcake.

Marimekko

I love Marimekko as you might already know and lately I've bought some new stuff to brighten up my spring. First, the Marimekko ♥ Converse collaboration Kirppu sneakers.

Mixing

About a month ago I did a survey in some random website about what type of interior designer am I. The result was that my style is classic and I favor quality brands with a long design history. I felt bit weird with the result, because I've always seen myself more like a quirky decorator than a classic one. But then I started to look around me. Marimekko, Eames, IvanaHelsinki, Iittala,.. all internationally well known design brands, hmm.

After a calendar mix-up I made my second attempt to attend Helsinki Fashion Stock Sales today. I tried to keep my wallet tightly closed but couldn't resist on getting these babies... Yum.

If you are at the area you should definitely go there. It's a quite small event and the atmosphere is very nice and friendly, I enjoyed it alot. And the prices are very reasonable...

[x] Music. Michael Jackson's This Is It black limited edition version & Live in Bucharest (oh memories!) arrived today. I'm going to spend few days at my parents' empty house together with Gekko and just enjoy the DVDs and wind down.

Fly away

As promised, I hereby present the coolest of the coolest.. my new sneakers!
A farewell gift from me to myself after leaving the shop owner -life behind. I thought I needed something extra special and these Jeremy Scott for Adidas sneakers were pretty much a perfect choise. The wings also happen to symbolise leaving, so I think they made a perfect gift for the occasion.

With these wings, I'm feeling bit more confident to fly towards all the new things future will hold for me, what ever they might be.

PS. I might have a problem, I have 4 new pairs of shoes flying to me soon..

Meet the Bikers

Readers, meet Bikers. Bikers, meet my readers.
These are my new winter boots, a gift from J. They are perfect and done by no less than the legendary boot maker Pekka Lahti from Boot Factory!
I've been eyeing bikers for a long time and now I got my very own pair. ♥ And I'm very happy about the fact, that now that I finally have biker boots, they are not just any soulless pair of bikers but hand made with love and 95% Finnish. At least I think they are made with love, since Lahti has been making boots almost 30 years!
Thanks babe, now my toes won't freeze in winter! ♥

Sunday

Sunday = good day. Loads of fun all day long and one dog seriously disturbed cause of my hooping.
Had my years old black high waisted harem pants (oh I'm so trendy, knew this was coming years ago LOL), grey tank top, silver and gold bangles, I Know Why No silver colored plastic heart necklace and my new sequined sneakers I purchased today from fleamarket. And bright blue nailpolish.

Finally...

...got my fakies. Not in black though. They had black ones too, but they didn't look as nice as these strange colored brown ones. Love is in the air.........
And I must say to all UGG haters, these are great shoes! I can wear them with jeans, leggings, pyjama pants, army pants.. They are so cute, and soft and if I feel like dressing up, then they are so totally unappropriate that there is no dilemma of choosing a more feminine/fancier pair.

New stuff

I bought a new hat for winter. It was a pure impulse shopping as I just fell in love with this Goorin knitted Lilly beanie ♥Also bought a new long shirt from WESC, but I can't find a picture of in black anywhere!!
This pic of WESC Luella sweatshirt (in grey/turquise) doesn't do justice to my lovely purchase, IRL is very cute.Mine is all black and I love to wear it with black top under it, semi-wetlook leggings, Goorin hat and my granny winterboots.
And sadly I didn't find the fakie UGG's from the store one reader suggested, but today found pretty nice fakies from an another store. Think I'll stop by there this weekend. First I need to go and try on an original pair of UGG's as I just found out that my friend living in a different city has quite cheap UGG's at her workplace.
Have to start counting my pennies and see what I'll get!

Winter boots

We finally got snow in Helsinki. It started snowing on Sunday, but it wasn't a snowflake here and there kinda snowing, it was a storm!

I realized that I needed winter boots, so I went shopping and walked in the storm in my Converses and tried to find cheap and light weighted boots. I already have worker boots from Knox and they are great, but bit heavy to use everyday.

But as we know, they are far from cheap so I was hoping to find some decent fake ones (shame on me!) either black or dark brown.

But there were none! Can't believe it!

My other choise would have been the true retro shoes, Moon Boots! I didn't get a pair when I was a kid, but I could correct that terrible mistake now.Sadly, I had no luck finding them either and I was starting to be in a hurry as we were going to my parents place for a dinner that day.

So as a desperate shoe shopper, I compromised and bought these winter boots, that are familiar from my childhood too, but not as cool as Moon Boots. But a big part of making my decicion was influenced by the price.. 15 euros!

Now I walk with these kinds of granny styled nylon winter boots:

PS. Sorry about not posting my own pics lately. I can't find my camera and I'm starting to be desperate. I will get a new one anyways this or next week so hopefully I can post something of my own soon.

Bit more formal party

Today I'm going to a party to celebrate painting companys 100 year in business. This is what I planned to wear:

Why I added the "I just got new boobs!" -sticker in there? No, before you even ask, I have absolutely no planns of adding a toilet paper in my bra, it's just that time of the month so I must say, for ones a low cut dress looks kinda impressive on me. One more reason to celebrate, hahhah!

Birthday (Warning: long post, lots of piccies)

I'm no longer 24. My birthday was on Saturday and now I'm officially nearer 30 than 20, and I try not to freak out about that (with little succes).

Other than that little age crisis, I had a great weekend!

Saturday evening me, bf and doggies went to my parents house to eat yummy eat. Menu was artichoke-sundried tomato salad, shrimp pasta and b-day cake. And ofcourse I got a b-day drink too, made from strawberries and champagne.

I got lovely presents too!

And I got two products from Lush. Had to try them immediately in sauna, and they are as good as they say!

And this lovely summer shirt, it will be great with my denim shorts and some bright bikini top.

On Saturday bf told me that we are going to celebrate my birthday on Sunday. I had no idea what he had in mind so I was anxiously waiting on Sunday for he to come home from work.

When he got home, he told me to get ready that we are going somewhere in the city. After we got near Kamppi shopping centre, he gave me 500€ and told me that we are going shopping and all that money needs to be spend on my new clothes and/or accessories only!

I was so happy, because I'd been wanting new clothes and since I rarely have money to spend on anything this was like a lottery win for me.

So we spent the whole afternoon shopping and trying on different clothes. And stopped to crab a bite in Fazer bakery.
